Kenneth S. Ingber, Of Counsel

Kenneth Ingber earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from from Lafayette
College and then earned his J.D. degree from the University of Miami Law
School in 1973. He represents individuals, institutions and entities in
a wide variety of complex business, commercial, employment, securities
and entertainment-related disputes and transactions, through all phases
of litigation, including trial.
Mr. Ingber was named Los Angeles Super Lawyers "Rising Star"
in 2004-2007. Mr. Ingber has a diverse background advocating for clients
in the entertainment industry, and is the former general counsel and vice
president of business affairs for a publicly-traded independent record
company. Mr. Ingber’s experience as a music industry professional
and business executive allows him to offer clients a unique perspective
on legal, business and insurance matters based on real world concerns
coupled with experienced legal advocacy.
Kenneth Ingber is a seasoned litigator with substantial experience handling
the trial, arbitration and mediation of complex commercial and securities
disputes. Mr. Ingber's expertise includes advising and defending companies
and their officers and directors in business, employment, entertainment
and securities matters. Mr. Ingber's expertise also includes representing
institutions and businesses in litigation disputes involving the motion
picture industry and the music industry, including disputes regarding
artists' rights, intellectual property rights, and international sales
agency agreements. Mr. Ingber has successfully arbitrated and litigated
numerous employment cases on behalf of employers and executive officers,
and represents large employers in connection with their labor and employment claims.
Mr. Ingber's entertainment law practice includes representation of
record companies, motion picture production companies, and international
sales agents, among others, in connection with commercial and entertainment
transactions. For nearly two decades Ken has represented film producers,
television producers, talent agents and talent managers, music supervisors,
film distributors, film financiers, domestic and foreign banks, and domestic
and foreign sales agents.
Mr. Ingber has worked with such entertainment and media brands as Discovery
Channel, ESPN, EMI Music Distribution, Fox Broadcasting, History Channel,
Turner Broadcasting, and Virgin Records. Beginning in 2009, he began to
represent the creators and producers of the The Dog Whisperer With Cesar
Millan to assist them in resolving their internal business disputes and
reshaping the business structure of the franchise in order to best capitalize
on global distribution and merchandising opportunities across all touch-points.
Today, The Dog Whisperer enjoys robust licensing, book sales and merchandising revenue.
In 2010 and 2011, Mr. Ingber began working with Media Focus Group, a California
based entertainment company focused on facilitating financing, production,
distribution and marketing of branded entertainment theatrically, in television
and in digital markets. Through his work with Media Focus Group, he has
developed a deep network of contacts and resources in the film and television
finance industry. Mr. Ingber is currently partnering with Media Focus
Group in an executive producer capacity to raise production financing
on films ranging from budgets of $5,000,000 to $25,000,000.
In 2012 and 2013, Kenneth Ingber represented the Daytime Emmy Awards on
behalf of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences overseeing
all aspects of business and legal affairs, including but not limited to
production, insurance, talent negotiations, distribution, and sponsorship
agreements. Mr. Ingber is also the former General Counsel and Vice-President
for Business Affairs of 2KSounds, Inc., which was a publicly-traded, independent
record company distributed by EMI Music Distribution. Kenneth Ingber's
experience as a music industry executive has allowed him to offer a unique
perspective on legal and business matters based on real world concerns
coupled with experienced legal advocacy.
As Executive Producer, Mr. Ingber is currently in pre-production on several
feature films including the film adaptation of NY Times Bestseller “I’m
With the Band,” as well as “Winners!” a Broadway musical
produced by Melanie Herman, and a biopic based upon the life of Jean Nidich–the
founder of Weight Watchers. |
